I couldn’t help myself, and the price was right. So here it is, AW11 number four (and the first supercharged one I’ve owned). The goods: LSD ‘box, pulley upgrade, and ABV mod; suffice to say it tears up the roads with ease, and the way the blower spits out all that torque from down low is phenomenal compared to all those turbo vehicles I own. Why I ever wasted time piddling around in atmo 4A-GE AW11s I’ll never know…

also has some incredibly lightweight 14″ wheels of unknown description, which pleasantly surprised me when I picked one up.

Presently it has a hole in the exhaust flexi joint, so sounds like a tractor – I must attend to that before its next warrant of fitness. But in summary, most fun daily evar!

I was having a minor discussion via txt messages on the old cellular phone the other day, conversing in small sections with one ‘Ricardo el Snoozin’.  He made mention of some padre’s of his wetting their pants in glee over the Rocky Auto RB30 S30Z makin figures over 300hp, his immediate response to them that the old Nissan L-series Inline 6 could also make similar numbers was met with much scoffing and a few titters.  Ah, the joy of peoples ignorance.  What this conversation did for me, was remind me of a Japanese AUTOWORKS magazine I have in my abode, which details a little green S30Z rolling an L-series on triple carbs.  I passed on photographs of the article and thought I would share with my readers on retro-classics a little of it too.  I don’t want to get into the whole deal of it, obviously it was published in Japanese print and as such there’s likely copyrights I may well in infringing were I to go to far, as such I shall share but a few pictures and the power chart.  So here goes;

What do you do when you’re sitting at work, supposed to be doing stock-take (really I’ve done most of it, I just wanted a little break from it just at the moment) you browse the internet looking for car related things and doofers.  Often you’ll find yourself on trademe.co.nz, imagining buying all manner of badass and peculiar vehicles.  Here’s a few that caught my eye;

Southern Muscle Car Wars, Ruapuna

A drag racing event held at Ruapuna in Christchurch.  Sadly I could not be there, CHCH is over 500km from me.  What I did manage to do however, was get some photos from a nice chap  (Graham a.k.a EFI_LC) who is on oldschool.co.nz, who did attend the event.  Here’s a brief selection of his photo’s here;

Drift South: Sneak Peak

I took a few photos of the Drift South event at Teretonga this weekend just been.  I didn’t stay too long on the main day, it was hot and I am a wuss, though in reality I had been feeling ill since the Friday and an unexpected long night/morning through into Saturday was not helping matters.  Having next to no sleep, most my pictures were from the lazy setup/drift school Saturday takings place as opposed to the actual race day on the Sunday.  Here’s a minor sneak peak of one photo from the Sunday.
