trademe Browsing…

March 31, 2009

What do you do when you’re sitting at work, supposed to be doing stock-take (really I’ve done most of it, I just wanted a little break from it just at the moment) you browse the internet looking for car related things and doofers.  Often you’ll find yourself on trademe.co.nz, imagining buying all manner of badass and peculiar vehicles.  Here’s a few that caught my eye;

First up, a plug for one of the GM-T and oldschool members, his Opel Kadett/Isuzu Gemini Race Car that’s currently for sale;

Clicking the photos will take you directly to their auction page on trademe.co.nz.  Next up is something entirely different…

Commer Fire Engine

Commer Fire Engine

OK, so it’s an ex-Fire engine but it’s pretty cool, right?  Would be a hilarious cruise wagon of sorts.  Other than fuel destruction by manner of a Holden 308, combatted by a 120L fuel tank, it would be fun.  Something you’d convert to GMC 6.2litre Diseasel and then boost the hell out of it.  Would be epic.

1932 Ford Roadster, Drag Car

You would think someone selling a $25k Drag car would have the ability to post some better pictures wouldn’t you?  Still, irrespective of the manner in which it’s portraited the car itself is a pretty sweet one and I’m not normally that well into these kind of rods.

1960 Impala Coupe

1960 Chevrolet Impala Coupe

Now this is something I’d love to cruise around in.  I’d lose the horrific Boyd Coddington oversized Cragars and put something with a little more style on it, but other than that and some juice, this puppy is good to go.  The red stripe contrasts awesomely against the pure white of the body.  Looks to be a more modern and clearer white than factory, does the car well though and how can you not love big fins and six rocket lamps?  You can’t.  Simple.

Last up, another race car…

Holden Torana SLR5000 A9X Replica

Holden Torana SLR5000 A9X Replica

Although not the prettiest, hatch type A9X replica and by no means the best Torana, it’s still not a bad car.  You can see similarities between this and the above Gemini, though that might be born more of period consequence than anything else, despite the GM ties.
