110-Project

Words cannot describe the level of happiness I reached after I returned home today to find my solution for this problem;

Oxide activate! ..form of.. BOOT LID!

The scary part is that the above photo is a good one, it doesn’t even begin to visually relay just how destroyed that boot-lid is, if rust wasn’t the only problem, the previous owner hacking into the skeleton like a flailing zombie would have proved more than difficult enough to remedy.

Thankfully though with big, big ups to the wonderful Ewan of hayatonka.com, I placed an order for and subsequently received this replacement;

Replacement Lid

FRP, from external to skeleton.

HUGE thanks to Ewan, again (and again and again) and massive respect to restored.jp for providing such a fantastic product.  I’m quite sure my mind is made up to wait for the cash to get another few things before I send the car in to get sorted.  No point fixing steel to then rust again at a later date when there’s FRP of this fit and quality about.

Care Instructions - Don't fuck it.

With many thanks to Mark and Lawrence, I now have some more bits and pieces for the 110.  The most important of which are the panels that I will be able to use to help remedy the rot that exists in mine.

Who puts a sunroof in a Skyline? I mean, really.

Other than that though and scoping out some bits and pieces, not a lot has changed other than the purchase of a boss-kit (thanks Ewan! www.hayatonka.com) to fit this little sucker on.

One day I might actually get to use it to steer with!

Stay tuned over the course of the year, don’t expect anything post-haste but there will be progress, I’ve plans for some essential purchasing next month and from there, who knows?!  I really would like to have it ready before my birthday this year as a little present to myself but we’ll wait and see as I’ve just recently been informed of another S21…

There’s always something.

With Ewan bringing in another container shortly I’ve been looking on YAJ much more frequently and given that, I figured I might as well compose a bit of a dream list setup of parts I would love to get if I had the money.

Period Buckets, x2 = 60000JPY

(more…)

With many thanks to Mark (tenphive), I now have a few panels that are sitting aside up country for me to pay for and have sent down to aid in the recovery of my 110.

So much less storage space required.

Onwards H230!

One of these days I’ll be able to afford to work on it again… Surely…
