I recently had a comment left on one of my Prince related entries by a chap in Greece who also owns a Gen. I, Prince Skyline. He was looking for a bit of information which I tried to assist him with, as well I could, but there’s a bit of a language barrier in addition to what seems to be a slight lacking in computer abilities on his part, meaning receiving pictures of his car to share with you all was proving difficult, eventually I managed to search via Google with various parameters to find a website where there were pictures of his car.  It was at that point that I realised I’d already seen his car via emails from Steve (nzmax).  Still, they’re impressive pictures given their background, amongst other things.   So, without further ado, here they are;

The car belongs to Ioannis Aristopoulis and is registered with FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) and used in Rallies, actually driven and not left sitting about.  If you have any doubt as to how it gets driven I think this next picture should answer that… (more…)

Swap meet 09

I figured that I would expand on kytelers post and post up some of my favourite cars from the Palmerston North swapmeet 09

I was a huge fan of the rat Herbie, would be so awesome if it could be made road legal

A pity Starions never really held their value here in NZ – which makes importing one not really that viable unless it was for a collection of some sort, but it’d be nice to own something this tidy/original.

This here’s a 1983 GSR-III model (with intercooler, so the 8-valve G63B gets a power bump to 175PS), tan cloth interior and smooth gunmetal paint. Starting bid is currently 200,000 yen (NZ$3100) which makes it something of a bargain, although it’s hard to tell whether start=reserve. No word on whether it comes with the factory optional blue smoke, but with only 59800km on the clock one would hope not!

now if only the interior was maroon, it’d be the perfect GSR-III…

You will look forward to see the records, I think the car has been well established treatment of it.

Linky to auction is here for the curious, and the seller has also provided an additional image gallery.

Courtesy of young Alex (durty) on oldschool, RC presents a stack of photographs taken of some of the cars on display at the swap meet/car show.  First and foremost is the oldschool.co.nz club display.  A wide scope of vehicles that help prove the diversity of the people involved in the forum;

Of course, the OS display was only a tiny part of it and there were many impressive vehicles scattered about the swap area and the show area, as always.  I’ve chosen a select few here but you can check them all out in the gallery (linked at the bottom of the post)… (more…)

Legend(s).  We’ll start with the 1st Gen.  How often do you come across a Service/Shop Manual for the First Generation Prince Skyline and Skyway Sedans and Wagons? The answer, seldom.  The joy of small-ish town mechanics, service manual libraries, as that’s often where the magic lies and knowing a young chap with a classic car addiction who works in one, can only prove beneficial.  I received a txt today that my literature had arrived to be collected.  I shot down to the place to get it straight away and came home, ripped it open and found this;

More on that in a little bit, my other recent acquisition is this;

A little toy car that was brought to my attention by Lochlan, an oldschool.co.nz member who lives in Japan, he asked if I would be interested in one, which I most certainly was.  I had completely forgotten about it when it arrived and I was well stoked.  I bought some AAA’s on the way home from work and proceeded to terrorize my girlfriend’s cat with it.  It was most amusing!
