From time to time on retro-classics, I’ll be posting a few threads like this. Basically, for those unfamiliar with most car forums, it’s an entry that displays via photograph, a few cars or car related things that caught my attention, to the point where I either got my cellphone out to capture the moment, or if I had my camera on me, I used that.
This first entry is a bit all over the place, time wise, though will give you a basic idea on what to expect.
I had seen this car around town quite a bit, though this weekend was the first opportunity I got to take a snapshot of it, being a passenger in my brother’s R32 Skyline made that much easier than it would have been if I’d been driving.

This little 160J used to belong to Paul, a member of the Datsun Owner’s Club of NZ, he sold it a few years back but it seems it still resides in Dunedin. I spotted it there whilst visiting a mate whose friend had hired out the skid-pad at the Speedway for their birthday. Was a pretty sweet setup with quite a few nice cars. I might get around to making a separate post for that later on.

This little Mitsi Colt was spied on the Motorway between the Hutt and Wellington.

This next car belongs to an older couple, I think in their late 60′s, early 70′s. They have this grey one and a green one of slightly more modern vintage. They’re both overdone in stick on chrome moulding strips, if you think the exterior is a bit garish, then you’ll be pleased to know that the interior receives a similar level of moulding dedication, extra badges, anything else that could seem almost too tacky. Is there. It’s almost like an older person’s classy take on a camo paintjob. Why leave it to just the exterior? Unfortunately, I have no pictures of the “enhanced” interior.

Rounding it off for this entry are a selection that I spotted whilst on a trip to Wellington earlier this year;
