Car Spotting

The great facelift face-off

January 11, 2009

what’s better than one DR30 Skyline? Why, two DR30 Skylines of course!

after four years of logistical nightmares, various states of disrepair, and a distance of over 150km separating each vehicle, I finally got the chance to photograph ‘em together in running condition with a suitable backdrop.

As they say, a picture tells a thousand words – so I’ll stop greasing now. Click on the photo below to view the entire set :D

Japanese Junkyard

Whilst stumbling about for other things entirely I happened upon this website and thought I would share it with you all;

70s Mazda Bonga

There’s some cars and trucks in here that I’m sure most people would die for, just scattered about and left to die on their own, in field or yards or other such.  As well as just some peculiar spots.  It’s not uncommon to see pictures of such things from the UK or the US but seeing them in and from Japan is not something that is witnessed with anywhere near the same regularity.

Hidden wonder.

December 21, 2008

As is likely the case around many places, there’s a lot of rare and/or simply badass cars, hiding behind hedges, in garages, tucked away in sheds.  Recently I visited a friend I’d not seen in a little while, he popped open the door of his garage and sitting infront of me were two cars of epic awesomeness.  One I knew about, the other was a recent addition to another’s flock that he is currently storing.

Here is the scene that greeted me as the door was opened;

For those who can’t figure out which cars these are.  I would wonder why you’d even be reading this site if I’m honest, that and your capability to read badges must be fairly slim at least for the car shown on the right hand side of the picture.

On my voyage…

December 17, 2008

On my way into work, on any given day I would usually see a tonne of cars that take my fancy, obviously some more modern and others of an older generation or two.

What I thought I would do today, is take my camera along for the walk.  Unfortunately whilst fiddling about making sure the settings were on high shutter speed (so I didn’t miss any fast moving vehicles) I, in the process, missed an absolutely mint Chrysler VF Valiant, and at times when I thought I would turn the camera off to save batteries on my walk into work, I also missed a few others that were worthy of being noted.

However, I cannot go back in time and as such, I shall post that which I did manage to capture, starting… from the start!  Enjoy.
