4-VALVE DOCH RS-TUBRO

November 8, 2009

Someone with cash needz to buy this, because you knows you wanna. And $10k probably wouldn’t get you one out of Japan shipped and complied with the way our peso currently is. It’s even got the oh-so-leet Jenesis rear spoiler and ADthree end caps, a sign of quality DR30-ness. But are some decent photos of the vehicle too much to ask for?

if you is in Dunedin, go have a look at it and tell me if it’s any good.

K, check. D, check. R30, check.

However do bear in mind that moar dish and moar slam are required with urgency. And Michael will probably give you shit because he’s all about the trip-slat, and this be iron-nose all up in yo’face.

Just hoping it doesn’t end up in the hands of some TC bastard. That would suck.

Nissan Skyline RS-X 1983 for sale on Trademe »

Covered in Goo!

November 4, 2009

Almsot every day I find myself on Goo-net.com for one reason or an other.  Sometimes linked by Ed (Orion) other times by any number of people who like to share in the spoils of the interwebs explorations.  Tonight I found myself navigating the seas of Fairlady’s and Skyline’s to find those housing the precious S20 spoils.  These were those I found and thought I would in turn share with you lovely people;

First up is what I imagine (though cannot confirm it to be due to lack of details and photographs) is a genuine Fairlady Z432

With a price tag of 9.5mil Japanese Yen, you would hope it was S20 powered. (That’s roughly 145,000NZD at current exchange rates).  Obviously the 432 is not the only Z with the S20, the 432R is almost motivated in similar fashion though there are none for sale currently on Goo for me to share but in speaking with Rob from RIVERSIDE I would imagine their prices are likely closer to that of the 110GT-R below… (more…)

That’s right, not more than one week after I sold the ’81 DR30 RS sedan on behalf of the elderly people down the line, two more examples have appeared on trademe. Maybe its presence caused a small snowball effect, who knows really.

anyway, first up is a white ’83 N/A pre-facelift (even though carjam lists it as an ’84). It’s no showroom example, has done over 200,000km and needs some rust repair work in the usual place for a WOF (front chassis rail behind the guard) but with the reserve met at $400 who’d have any reason to complain? It even has the good old 3-slat grille still.

Triple Slat Slam

A couple of things don’t sit quite right about this car, most notably the facelift HR30 tail lamps and bootlid with SKYLINE applique, and also the weird blue and grey interior which is actually from a GT-EX sedan like this one, but the seller’s included a build plate photo which more or less confirms its DR30-ness. Most likely one with half the options ticked.

Number two is another N/A sedan of sedan-ness, also an ’83 (a good year). Exterior shots are yet to arrive but I’m betting it’s not gonna be an iron nose. from the interior photos it seems well-kept, almost like the old folks’ one. Reserving judgment until more photos arrive but the kms are lower, it’s got a WOF, and it’s only $1700. Sounds good eh?

sheepskin covers, awesome!

I get the feeling NZ isn’t quite ready to accept the DR30 as a bona-fide cult car…
