Sorry folks, I’ve been working on it but it’s a painfully slow task to label all these damn photographs, I’ve taken some shortcuts but I should be done with the lot tomorrow, in the meantime, here’s a quick preview;

You may recall the post a few months back about a chap (Glomerus) in the Ukraine that had discovered, purchased, salvaged and begun restoration on a PC110 (4cylinder Skyline). Glomerus is one of many Japanese car enthusiasts in the Ukraine and as the title of this entry suggests, they got together as many do across the globe to share their passion and enjoyment of the cars.
You don’t get a more fitting flagship than a chrome-laden Cedric with a Japanese Imperial ‘Rising Sun’ flag. It seems the majority of the earlier cars at the meet, late 70′s and early 80′s were predominantly the domain of Nissan, whereas the slightly newer cars mid to late 80′s were more largely represented by Toyota. A few more shots and some Gallery links after the jump; (more…)
This fine example of a restoration was a participant in the NZ Classic Car Rally that was held recently in Gisborne, those familiar with the RC will have already seen the photos of the event itself (though if you haven’t you can get to them here).
Why is the car a Super 8? Well it’s 8 inline cylinders of 100% Pure, undiluted awesome;
The more observant of you will note the symmetry requires a spare wheel on each side of the vehicle, held in colour coded covers no less with their very own Packard brand padlocks… (more…)
As mentioned in the preview at the tail-end of last week. This event was held over the Gisborne region during the last several days. From what I have seen from photographs it proved to be an event worthy of attending if classics are your thing and they are most certainly mine so it will be another added to the list.
Shiloh of Raizer Images has kindly provided coverage to retro-classics.co.nz of the event. Many interesting cars attended, here’s a short selection and you’ll find a link to the Gallery of images at the bottom of the entry.
