With nothing to show for it in the way of working on cars. Some progress has been made but certainly nothing really worthy of posting about. So, instead have a brief glance at my clone flares taped onto the right rear.
I’ll get there….

Are you seriously removing that much material?
How else do you propose I fit the flares?
for real…………is that how much metal HONESTLY has to coem off? my lord
Invisibly?
Jarred, yeah man. Lots to remove. Just scope out any pictures of genuine 110GT-Rs.
Josh, Nah, flares are fucking win. I love the bolt-on flares look. Standard clean bodywork is all well and good just not for me in this instance. The S21 will have to cater to that.
yeah it is a bit surprising how much gets chopped out when you look at it like that, but that is going to be fricken awesome. Are you planning to go with 15s or 16s? Wats?
Lochlan, 16″ Watanabe Racing Service wheels are the order of the day. 8.5 Front and 9.5 Rear. Though that is some time off with many things required doing first. The interim wheels are my 14×7.5″ -13 XR4′s, which by the looks of things, may require some slight spacing to not look stupid in the rear.
Oh yeah, I see now. Crazy! Did they produce the GT-R shell with a differently pressed rear quarter, or chop it in the factory to suit?
Now the only bad factor will be if your top of cambered rear tyres decide to caress the inner guards?
Different shells. A few bits of awesomeness here and there on the GT-R.
Top of tyres should have a mile of clearance, the flares sitting so high that travel in the suspension and resulting camber would cater for all but the excessive of wheel choices.
Don’t do it man. Fitment and stance over flares anyday. Old skylines are way to rare to be cutting up and replacing with fibreglass. Also you will lose those beautiful original lines and arch shape. Once its gone you wont get it back!
I appreciate the concern in regards to old Skylines, however there are more 110 about than you might think. The majority of which are standard. I’ve always liked the GT-R look so that’s the go for me. I’m sure i could find another one even relatively easily over the next 5 years or so, if I wanted a standard shell. Also, after the damage and amount of rust holes to be repaired in mine, it’s not as though I’m cutting up a pristine shell.
