KDR30 MADNESS

Got OCD much?

1983 red and black iron mask KDR30 turbo is the best kind of Skyline. Michael will probably disagree with me here, but what would HE know? :P Read on to see my “STRONGEST SKYLINE” Goo-net picks of the week:

580,000 yen nets you this non-intercooled ’83 RS turbo. The ducktail spoiler and ADthree end caps are a nice touch, but contrary to the ad description it’s not a RS-X, since it’s got poverty spec seats and wind-ups. You often don’t see many “restoration none” (no major accident damage) DR30s with only 102,000km on the clock for under 800,000 yen, so this is actually a bargain in the grand scheme of things. Buy! Sell! Buy Sell!

IRON NOSE

KDR30 #2 (also an ’83 model) is slightly cheaper at only 490,000 yen and even comes with added low-down configuration and black dished Watanabes to please the fanboys out there :P One thing I’d get rid of straightaway are those horrid R31 front seats and the wiring could do with a tidy-up, but it sure as hell ain’t as butchered as some of the crap you see on Trademe every day.

Low down configuration, it has!

Low down configuration, it has!

Finally, the expensive one. Weighing in at a hefty 840,000 yen, in return you receive a fairly stock standard ’83 KDR30 rolling on SSR meshies. Not much else to talk about here, except someone’s gone and stuck a GReddy pressure relief valve on the ‘surge tank’ (aka plenum chamber). Oh, and there are those sweet ADthree end caps again. Why is there a picture of a kitty cat on the number plate?

If I could get mine looking as good as #1, I’ll be stoked. (driving lights optional!)
