What I thought I would do over the next few days is sample a few choice selections available on the Japanese “Goo-net” website, available for purchase, if you have that kind of coin.  Typically, I’ll try and show some of those cars that aren’t particularly common to see available in NZ.  Being I have mostly owned Nissan’s myself, I thought I would start from there, so here goes…

1984 Nissan Leopard @ 980,000JPY

All super sweet rides in varying conditions and prices, some out of reach of most but all 4 of them are epic beyond my wildest dreams.  The A30 Gloria has immense appeal as it sits but you just know that NZ Vehicle Inspection officials would throw a fit at what’s likely been done to get it to sit that way.  If you’re curious the current exchange rates put them at the following prices;

Cedric; $20,000NZD

Gloria; $7,650NZD

Silvia; $60,990NZD

Leopard; $16,600NZD

It’s a shame with this industry manifested and sustained “depression” that the JPY vs. the NZD is so atrocious (currently in the late 50JPY to 1NZD vs. the mid to high 80′s last year) otherwise that Gloria would be well worth taking a gamble on.

Ah well, I’m sure the dollar will recover eventually…

    that gloria is a bargin at that price

  • kyteler says:

    Perhaps aye, but factor in shipping as well as the licensing gestapo and perhaps not. Would be so sweet to roll the streets in though.

    As much as Id love a Silvia Id have to also go with the Gloria this time. Pretty sweet price for a huge wag to join the wagoneers! Wonder if it has dickie seat?

  • kyteler says:

    Cool part is that it appears to be a van variation or at least has been made into one. That is to say it’s 2door instead of 4, more freight/luggage/storage room. Which would mean it’s less likely to have the dickie seats too. I have a 3″thick A30 Gloria Parts Book at home that I should scope to check the variations. I think you’d automatically win any wagoneer’s comparitives with that sucker.

  • kyteler says:

    Actually flag that. I think the sucker is ex-hearse. That’s several shades more awesome than any other wagon/estate/van/break option.

    stuff that
    jdm ghost’s haunting the jebus out of you

    must say thanks for the link, found my dream ms5* crown ute on there
