As a celebration of getting the WordPress software and the website itself hosted on it’s own server, I thought I’d provide for download a small selection of photos that I’ve taken over the last few years at various events & locations.  Enjoy!

Jaguar & Imp, Teretonga 07

This was a favourite of mine due to the fact that the SIDCHROME Imp, as once piloted by Jim Richards, was there.  The presentation of the MkII Jaguar was also simply amazing.  I do have a few more pictures of each car, if you’re interested in them just let me know.

Chevrolet Bel-Air & Dodge Coronet

Chevrolet Bel-Air & Dodge Coronet

These two were a chance encounter.  I was simply driving along and saw them part out front of a local automotive upholstery place and happened to have my camera on me.  It was great to see 50′s and 70′s muscle sitting out on the street like they were both new.

Another from the Teretonga Classic Speed Festival in 2007, inparticular the 240Z with licence plate “SNEAKY” making it’s way into the grid comprised of some diverse and fantastic machinery.

R32, Z31, EVO, Legacy RS & KE70

One of the more modern classes as opposed to the typical classics, the contrast between the R32 Skyline at the front vs. the *E70 Corolla at the rear with the eclectic mix in between and rubber strewn across the track make for a nicely composed photo, if I do say so myself.

Pick & Mix

Pick & Mix

As is always the case, wrecking yards can provide for some interesting photography and when you love cars, there’s just about always something surprising sitting in the stacks of cars that takes your eye, the BMW in this photograph stands out in my eyes.

McLaren Can-Am!

McLaren Can-Am!

This photo pretty much speaks for itself.  Seeing Can-Am cars in their heyday was not something I was able to do, so when half a dozen of them visited Teretonga in NZ during the 2008 Classic Speed Fest.  I took more than a few shots inbetween indulging in their glorious sounds and prowess on-track.

LeadSled

LeadSled

Lead-sleds have always been a favourite modified car of mine, the look, the stance, everything about them appeals to me and when I spied this car at a local car show called “HorsePower Heaven” I had to take a few quick snaps.  Chrome, Flames, Pinstriping, Whitewalls, Spats, Lake Pipes & Low.  What’s not to like??

Famous Local RX3

Famous Local RX3

This particular car has been around for year and years, is a regular sight on the dragstrip and is always well presented and I know that Rotary’s get a lot of love internationally so I figured there’d be a few people who may well be keen on a relatively decent, sizable photo of one.

That’s all for now, though now that we’re on a seperate host and the software is sorted and good to go, keep your eyes peeled for updates, they should start to pick up again.  Each month will show a different feature car on the frontpage (http://www.retro-classics.co.nz/)  If you’ve browsed to this page directly, you can get to this months feature here;

MAYDAY!

Enjoy!
