especially not around these parts. But feel free to skip this entry if you’re over flying wedges.
I tend not to talk a great deal about my MR2 because it’s my daily driver and people don’t usually give a tin shit about their dailys, myself included. I’ve had it for half a year so far – and folks still haven’t realized that I went and bought another AW11 because I haven’t really bothered to tell anyone about it.
It’s the fourth AW11 I’ve owned and the first supercharged one… why the hell didn’t I get one sooner?
of course, being a daily it gets driven around 500km a week and thus gets rather filthy rather quick. I recently cleaned it for the first time in months the other weekend, and decided to go snap-happy with the trusty old dSLR afterwards while I still had the chance. Photos came out primo – plus the lighting was particularly trippy that day… gotta love country weather.
if you must know, it does have a few goodies under the engine cover in the form of an upgraded supercharger pulley (which was a cunt to get the correct belt for) running 10psi, 4-1 extractors, and a TRD LSD ‘box (that needs shimming, bahhh). Oh it’s also got a PHAT PODDY in its own little enclosure, but who really counts that as a worthy mod?
The bronze rims are a nice touch and surprisingly lightweight, even more so than my DC2R Enkeis.
suffice to say, around town it’s a crazy little torque monster, and it’s still sweet in the twisties even if the stock suspension does err toward understeer in typical early SC model fashion. I have to restrain myself from taking it around the track, as I can’t afford to have it out of action for very long. Put 500km a week on my DR30? Been there, done that, and not something I would do again in a hurry.
Anyway, you can find more pics on flickr here, or just enjoy the selection below:
I apologize for the Wedge Antilles quotes – but it was too tempting not to use ‘em!

Are you decypher on trademe by chance orion? I need to get the clutch replaced and was wondering if you recall if it has the 225mm or 230mm clutch?
