Here we have a cheesy 1982 promotional video for the R30 Skyline… it’s the BEST WAY to your heart!

Features appearances by the late greats Sakurai-san and Paul Newman, plus interesting footage of the design stage, clay models, and early test vehicles. The RS sneaks in towards the end as well.

I shouldn’t need to say much more than that – just take a look for yourself.

The music track is The Best Way To Your Heart, by Maxine Dixon, which played in the background of the original R30 television ads. Given the lyrics I wonder if Nissan commissioned this song especially? And ironically enough, the majority of the “cruising around” scenes were shot in the United States – one market where the car was never sold.

with credit to the original Youtube uploader (IKnowSkyline) – check out his other awesome Skyline-related promotional and informational videos here, including another video featuring Paul Newman set to the Butch Cassidy version of Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head… see what they did there?

An early PNV decal design?

Muffler leaves a little to be desired but the rest is poifekt.

Eww, the front.

I’m no fan of the beak on the RX3, it reminds me of the beak on the 2nd Gen. Camaro, which is also terrible.  Still, slap an 808 front on and you’ve got a winner of all and everything.

Further from the previous entry, here’s some more of the wonderful cars and pieces of machinery on display;

From a time when an Estate was the size of an Estate.

This Edsel is awesome, weird lines from the sedan seem to suit the estate down do the ground, which is convenient because that’s pretty close to where this goon is sitting, wearing his slot-mags of bogan.  You could house an entire family in this estate on and still have enough room for the help.

Cars from a simpler, more mobster time.

How cool would it be to hang off the side of this with a Tommy-Gun?  The answer?  STUPENDOUSLY COOL!  There’s a Thunderbird in the background that would make a perfect shooting target.

I received these photos from Steve (nzmax, fellow 1st Gen. Prince Skyline owner) the other day and thought that I would throw them online to share with you guys.  This is what eventuates when circumstances change and you have to relocate a few classic Prince vehicles.  The image with the most impact is definitely this one of one BLSID-3 towing a Skyway W21B-4 on a trailer;

Utilising 1900cc of 4-cylinder OHV magic, the 4-wheel drums could be sketchy...

That’s not to say this following ones are any less amazing moments in time, of course.  For instance, this shot of an S21S-4 Skyline on a trailer being towed by a 1963 Pontiac Laurentian has it’s own levels of lovely.

Needs a little work, one careful lady owner?
