Thanks go out to Ewan (www.hayatonka.com) for many, many things. This time though it’s for taking a good whack of photos whilst he’s out and about at various events or otherwise. In this instance he took the recently acquired KHR31 GTS-X that he attained on behalf of Shaun (Mettler) after this atrocity to the Nagoya Classic Car Show, the results as you will see momentarily are beyond awesome. As you’ll see from the small share of photos this time around, the focus is on the larger Japanese sedans that were present.
Car Spotting
another successful FLAWLESS trackday has been and gone – many churs to Jarred and the team for the organizational prowess (and for letting me take the AW11 around the track for one brief stint). Taupo put on some interesting weather this year with fog in the morning and rain in the afternoon… a marked contrast from 2009 when it was sunny all day.
also chur to Markku/Truenotch for this sweet photo of my car:
With over 300 shots to sort through on my camera I should hopefully have the bulk of them up on my flickr tonight – the album is here – but for now, content yourselves with some selected shots after the jump…
Not quite retro nor classic, but I had a chance to scope out Rally NZ on the weekend. Cheaped out this year and didn’t go to any of the paying stages – but the Domain super special stage was a good enough approximation, albeit rather dark…
this Olympus E-30 continues to impress with its ability to perform reasonably well even in crap low light conditions. And don’t get me started on the merits of the “trashy” 40-150mm kit lens that came with my old E-500. (I like it, actually)

otherwise there’s a selection of photos for quick perusal after the jump!
HAH! Tricked you. It’s a photoshop of a Honda Accord Aerodeck with some Toyota bits and a Paintjob (or rather, the other way around evidently). Still, it looks super sweet but the Aerodeck did anyway. Nice fusion though. Big ups to the shopper.
I found the pictures on oldschool.co.nz, posted by NZDMAE86. It appears as though he got them from hachirocku.com.au
