Ticket & Programme.  Check!

Ticket & Programme. Check!

As promised, though delayed (my apologies) I’ve uploaded the photos I took at the CSF this weekend just been.  Sadly there’s not too many, the weather was horrible and as a consequence I didn’t get out until late and a lot of competitors had packed up or their cars were tucked away in makeshift sheds and covers, sheltering from some bitter and cold rain.

Here’s a few samples of the gallery, follow the link at the bottom of the post to see the rest.

Teretonga Teaser

February 22, 2009

Despite the weather being absolutely atrocious, I did manage to get out for a little while this afternoon once I realised the weather was not likely to improve and I got a few snaps.  Not as much as I would have liked but it was cold and I didn’t much fancy being stuck out in the horrid weather for an extended period of time.

The weather.  To be avoided.

The weather. To be avoided.

Here’s one shot as a teaser for the rest of the gallery which I shall upload tonight;

I think the windscreen banner explains it all really, having a ball in the wet around Teretonga amongst other classics.  “Life’s Good” Indeed.

Stay tuned!

March 13th & 14th!

It’s not far away now people. (less than a month!) If you’re interested in this and you aren’t on oldschool.co.nz I urge you to join and get something sorted out.  The nationals will involve a track-day as well as a show, cruise, bbq and relaxation day where everyone can just enjoy their cars and others and the company of those whose passion is cars of the past.  The majority on OS are small Japanese and Euro/Brit car types, though that’s not to say there’s no room for others, everyone is welcome.

IT RETURNS!

February means it’s time for the Classic Speed Fest.  Invercargill’s portion of the Southern Festival of Speed.  An annual event that goes through Christchurch, Timaru, Invercargill and Dunedin.  Though in recent years the Dunedin section has been somewhat missed out.  They don’t have a track, there’s a street circuit that gets laid out and.. as with most things, the few whingers ruin it for the on weekend of the year that it happens.  There’s also a Hill-climb in the Dunedin segment, but I believe at least last year that road was being re-done.

To give a taste of the Classic Speed Festival, here’s a few snaps of cars from some previous years events.

JCCA Coverage

January 30, 2009

OK, so we don’t have any but I’ve been stumbling all over the web across awesome coverage and thought I’d provide a few links for you peoples.

If you’re unaware, JCCA stands for Japanese Classic Car Association.  So there’s things about at these meetings from all over the globe and not just Japan.

My favourite coverage so far is from noriyaro.com

I love the way which he’s photographed most the cars, seems to be more atomosphere to his shots thant he others I’ve seen.  Perhaps due to the lateness in his getting there and the time of day the shots were taken, regardless they’re good work.  You can view the two entries on his blog here;
