Cars for Sale

Holy Weird Nissan, Batman!

September 16, 2009

Recently posted on the trademe thread on the oldschool forums was this weird entity.  The picture initially provided I assumed it was a Toyota Carina so clicked on it with relative interest, only to be greeted by the weirdest version of a Nissan Pulsar I’ve ever laid my eyes on!

Carina from a distance?

Carina from a distance?

Listed on trademe with the titling of “Backpacker” I assume to appeal to those backpacker types due to it’s clean and cheapness ($1200.ooNZD)  A search of the plate on carjam.co.nz reveals it as being a “Nissan Pulsar Liberty” HN12 chassis and E15 motivated.   Click “more” for further pictures.  It’s very 80′s. Last call… save us now!

If anyone still remembers the DR30 RS sedan garage find from a couple months back – I’ve now been asked to arrange a Trademe listing on behalf of the owners, and can officially say the vehicle is definitely “for sale”.

However… if anyone is willing to spare me the hassle of dealing with Trademe ‘tards asking dumb-arse questions, I’m going to wait for a week before listing the car, during which time you can contact the seller (Shaun) directly on 027 577 0161. At this stage I can’t disclose the exact price the car will be appearing on Trademe for, but offers in excess of $2000 will be considered up until then. The car is available for viewing in the Waikato.

DR30 Skyline sedan (by decypher the code)

ohai, remember me?

The rego is on hold as the WOF expired in July, but a fresh WOF and 3 months’ rego will be obtained prior to sale unless suitably arranged with the seller and/or owner. Odometer reads approximately 157,500km.

I really don’t want the car to end up in the hands of some (drift) muppet who will proceed to toss the FJ20E and butcher the damn thing, but unfortunately once it hits Trademe that’ll inevitably be the end result…

Not going to list on any of the Skyline forums, however Michael if you’re reading this you have permission to list it on oldschool and/or the Datsun forums on behalf.

All for the princely starting bid of 14800JPY, that’s about the same a replica 110GT-R grille would cost me and I know which I’d rather have.

Max Power!

September 2, 2009

Daihatsu Max, that is.

So, as I used that creepy new twitter application to indicate earlier in the weekend I checked out a 1974 Daihatsu Max which was located in a town three quarters of an hour drive away.  It was a fine enough day and I’d spent a good while hacking at my C110 so it was a nice relaxing drive in the lazy jacked diseasel cruiser that is my D21 Terrano.

I had stumbled upon said Max on trademe.co.nz some days earlier, initially listed with no picture, after a day or so a picture had made it’s way on there but being it was what appeared to be a scanned an un-cropped photo it provided no aid in knowing what was what, other than the car was white and at one stage it had been parked on the grass.  Helpful?  You judge…

Having made vague arrangements to days previous and then having earlier to confirm location and residence I arrived at my destination mid afternoon and was ushered around the corner to find…  (more…)
