Spotted on AMON: one very tidy 1980 series 1 RX-7. I kinda prefer the smoother lines of the updated series 3 fascias, side mouldings and bumpers but SA22Cs have one of the sweetest looking bodystyles in my books regardless.

All panda spec, albeit with a body coloured fibreglass ducktail.

The little NACA duct in the headlight is a nice touch, and also more useful than one would think, as the intake draws its air from that general location.

Where can I find one of those ducts for mine?

The interior is also a nice black vinyl as opposed to the garish tartan patterning that a lot of the series 1s came optioned with – possibly even a custom retrim. Could get rather icky during a New Zealand summer though, and I see no evidence of air-conditioning being fitted. Can’t have it all, I suppose…

Very tasteful inside.

Surprisingly, for such a tidy looking example the price is a fairly reasonable 588,000 yen (or NZ$9400). This may or may not be due to the fact the car has already been deregistered in Japan, perhaps in anticipation of export to a buyer in another country.
