So after getting my hands on a camera that wasn’t decrepid and useless I set about taking photos of the cars in one of their several meetings places before they would scurry about the Southland countryside.  The majority of this next selection of photographs was taken from the car park area of Stadium Southland the remainder were taken at various motel car parks on the way to the Stadium.  Such a fantastic variety of vehicles involved in this rally with everything from the 1900′s through to the 1970′s, from Europe, the U.K., the U.S., Australia and Japan.

Here’s another small sampler, the gallery link is at the bottom of the page;

That’ll do for now, the next set is photos taken from another departure destination, on the Gala St. reserve.  Where it was raining.  Yuck.  Post that however will be another set of photographs taken from the final show held out near one of the sportsgrounds before Oreti Beach.

Here’s the RC flickr set for this lot;

Of course, if this looks like your kettle of biscuits then you could register your interest for the next one which takes place in Wanganui in 2012, that’s plenty of time to get your car ready, so do it!  Hopefully I’ll see you there (if you see a 1973 Nissan Skyline or a 1963 Prince Skyline, it might well be me, just holla out)
