Coming to an entry near you.  Shortly.

Over the Queens Birthday weekend, it is quite common for there to be event of an automobile nature acrtoss much of the country, though I didnt look for anything specifically in my area I was lucky enough that Raizer from oldschool.co.nz covered for me, the Gisborne Car & Bike Show, oddly enough, In Gisborne, NZ.

With a scratch over 200 photos there’s plenty to view, I’ve included a few minor sample in this post but the link to the gallery on the retro-classics.co.nz flickr account is at the bottom of the page so you’ll have to read the entry to get to it :P

Spirits of The Rally

May 22, 2009

I was just linked to a page on this site by Ed.  I thought I would share it with you all as it has some pictures of some pretty wicked cars, here’s a few of my favourites;

Fiat 131R

Fiat 131R

This is hopefully close to what Tomstament’s car will look like on completion, perhaps even in those colours.  That would be magic.  You can get to the rest of the images and pages by following the link at the base of this entry. (more…)

You may recall me mentioning the FLAWLES Trackday on here a few times in the recent past. If your memory is lacking like mine, then the entries are; Flawless Trackday Planned – 21st June 09 & Flawless Trackday Update!

The very latest update on this is that ENTRIES ARE CLOSED! All spots are filled and they are filled by a wonderfully diverse range of cars.  Here’s a look at what’s going to make their presence known on the track, if you like what you see then you might want to pop down and take a look at the event itself,  you could even attend to help on the marshalling side of things which would be of great assistance to Jarred, I’m sure.  If you can help you’ll find his email on the first page of this thread. Keep in mind though, you can’t race, all spots are filled.  So in just over a month RC should have a stack of photographs of the following cars… (more…)

Cadillac & Lees Ford

Cadillac & Lee's Ford

As is always the case, Lee from oldschool.co.nz attends as many automotive events as humanly and sometimes superhumanly possible.  He’s a dedicated man and I’m forever greatful for that and his willingness to share the photo documentation of his exploits.  The most recent of which that he snapped a few happy’s at was as the title of the blog indicates, the recently held Napier Hot Rod Swap Meet, most swap meets nationally have gone from more than just a few stalls willing those hard to find and sometimes ridiculously rare trinkets and trim pieces to basically car shows with a place to buy bits.  On one hand, that’s kinda cool, on another it’s a little sad.  More cars on show generally means less room for those selling goods, which you would think was the principal point of a swap meet.  Whether this is the case with the Napier one, I’m not sure.  It certainly seemed to be at the Palmerston North one I attended last year.  Enough of the jibber jabber however, onto what you’ve come to see, the vehicles!
